By day, Bria teaches writing and literature at a university in Virginia. When she's not grading papers, she's dreaming of fantastical worlds populated by badass heroines and the heroes who love them--and each other. She primarily writes paranormal romance for both M/F and M/M couples. She's also got a soft spot for M/M/F triads, because why should a guy have to choose?
Darkness Falling was an incredible story with lots of action, love and some fun along the way. For example, Lex wanted a fluffy werewolf pet. The next book should be just as amazing as this one - maybe even more so as we are more familiar with the world. It was exciting, action packed and realistic. Not everything went well for our heroes and heroines. It was a lot of work and so many problems to overcome. I cannot wait to read the next one and see where the journey goes.
I really enjoyed the complexity of the world building. Magic is presented in a way I haven't run into before and I found that intriguing. Our MCs are engaging and so very sweet. The warmth and love they have for one another leaps off the page. The spicy moments are well done and fit within the storyline. Looking forward to book two!
I'm always up for a story involving New Orleans and this first in a trilogy has me anxiously awaiting the next two books to see where things go. This is a wonderful, world spanning mix of romance with the friends to lovers trope, a post-apocalyptic story of survival and a story about the conflict between humans and paranormals which catches up Lex and Mike because Lex is a witch and Mike is human. The author clearly has lots of plans for these characters and this world and I'm all there for it.
WOW! Just wow!!! There is so much I could rave about - the natural relationship of Mike and Lex - the brotherhood of the MagCorps - the magical EMP that causes such devastation - Lex's enthusiasm for history - honestly, I'd be here for hours! This was a novel that I started at night, figuring I'd just read a little before bed. Instead, I was glued to the pages, only putting it down when I simply couldn't focus any longer, only to pick it up first thing the following morning to continue and finish their story.
For most of this book the plot is fairly interesting...Shifters, witches, prejudice, relationships and young people learning how to get ready to go to war. There is a lot of interesting build up but then Bria Ferguson has something major happen and she does it very cleverly. Both the characters and audience don’t realize how big this complication is going to be and I will be interested to see where she takes this tale.
